Frontline Of Cyber Defense

We take the time to understand the individual business issues of each of our customers to ensure the their information technology strategies position them to maintain leadership in their respective markets.

Cyber-Attacks Are On The Rise

Because employees are the core of any business, they will be the main target for cyber criminals. Making sure your people stay up-to-date with cyber security knowledge, and teaching them to recognize threats, is imperative to the security of your business. The threat landscape is constantly evolving, and so should your approach to defense.

Security awareness training and phishing simulations go hand in hand. Phishing has become very sophisticated and almost
undetectable, as criminals have found ways to make their emails as realistic as possible. Phishing simulations test employees on how they
would respond to a real-life phishing attack.

TRAIN AND PHISH!

Trained and aware employees are critical to securing an organization, and an effective, ongoing internal security awareness program can help reduce your
company’s vulnerability, turning the “weakest link” in your cyber defenses into its greatest strength.

Your employees are your first and primary line of defense against online crime. Equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to protect themselves – and your business – from criminal elements. – Feel free to contact us for more information regarding Phishing Campaigns and Training

The Importance of Cyber Resilience

We take the time to understand the individual business issues of each of our customers to ensure the their information technology strategies position them to maintain leadership in their respective markets.

According to the National Cyber Security Alliance study, 60% of businesses that are hacked go out of business within six months. The vast majority of damage done in cyber attacks is due to the inability of the company to respond because they have not developed a cyber prevention and response strategy. Think about it. We practice fire drills and earthquake duck and cover drills. Shouldn’t we do the same to prepare for risk with similar catastrophic consequences? If your e-commerce system, website, email, or customer data was suddenly inaccessible because of an attack, would you be able to get back up and running within minutes, hours, days, or at all? That depends on your business’s level of cyber resilience.

What is Cyber Resilience?

The most common definition of cyber resilience is the ability of an enterprise to limit the impact of security incidents. It’s a broad approach that encompasses cybersecurity and business continuity management, which aims to defend against cyber attacks and ensure that the business is able to survive.

Benefits

Cyber resilience can reduce the economic impact on your business after a cyber attack and instill confidence in your customers who know that you are able to protect their data. Consequently, a significant amount of underwriting now takes into account business resiliency. Cybersecurity practices such as password management, risk assessments, employee training, and incident response plans can prove your organization’s resiliency and thus lower insurance costs. With premiums ranging from $10,000 for small organizations to over $100,000 for million-dollar businesses, these cost savings can be valuable.  Ideally, you should implement an incident response plan before you purchase cyber insurance to better understand what your needs are and how you can enjoy lower rates. By documenting prevention, detection, and mitigation best practices, you can negotiate better insurance terms and conditions, which may include:

• Reduced premiums

• Broader coverage

• Higher amounts of coverage

How Teams Can Stay Connected
and Productive While Working Remotely

Whether you’ve worked on a team with members across different geographic locations, or if you have full remote employees on your team already, we have ways to work within the confines of temporary team member isolation. Here are some tips and suggestions for how your company can stay productive and
communicative during your time working from home:

1. Communication tools need to be your go-to solution

• Video conferencing systems, like Zoom or Google Hangouts, will be your best friend. Ask yourself “is this conversation better-suited face-to-face?” If so, book 15 minutes with someone over your video conferencing system instead of managing these communications over email or a messaging tool. It will go the distance for keeping you and your teammates in sync.

• Messaging tools, like Slack, are a great way to continue moving through our processes and asking necessary questions to team members. This is a rapid way to get answers and to communicate small needs or changes with the group.

• Don’t be afraid to just pick up the phone and call someone. Share your phone number or a Google Voice number with your colleagues when you need to have a quick conversation.

2. Block off “Do Not  disturb” time on your calendar each day

• Communication tools, especially when remote, can become your entire day if you don’t manage your time appropriately. Establishing blocks of time where you
request to not be interrupted so you can concentrate on your work is crucial.

• Utilize the “Do Not Disturb” feature to limit your notification overload. Getting constantly pinged can be overwhelming for anyone; do your best to reduce distractions when you need to

3. When you’re in a video meeting, turn on your camera and pay attention

• It’s easy to get distracted by other inquiries you’re receiving when you’re on a video meeting,  especially when you can’t just close your laptop like when you’re in a conference room with team members. The only way to avoid this is to turn off notifications and focus on the content in the session.

• Turning on your  camera allows people to read your expressions and  interact with you more effectively. Additionally, it gives you the incentive to be present in the meeting instead of handling other issues during the call. No one wants to be called out for not paying attention.

Working from home is about balance. Make sure you  take frequent breaks and monitor your working hours as you would if you were commuting. It’s easy to burnout when you work from home, so talk with your manager if you feel that you are struggling to be productive. Use the tools you have at your disposal to continue being effective contributors and collaborators with your remote team members
